Nov 13,  · When we judge a work of art, according to his formulation, we are making it conform to a pattern whose outline is laid down in simple geometrical figures; and it is the analysis of these figures both in art and nature that forms the core of Professor Ghyka’s book. He also shows this geometry at work in living organisms. Geometry, on the other hand, is both an “art” and a “science” according to the ancient senses of these terms. It is a “science” because it begins from self-evident and necessary truths, and reasons forward to their logical consequences. This book contains mathematical information on a huge variety of subjects as well as steps to solving almost any type of problem you can think of. Topics covered include number theory and operations, measurement, geometry, algebra, trigonometry, calculus, and two .
